El ‘boom’ turístico de Medellín: el ‘milagro paisa’ para superar a Cartagena

The tourist 'boom' of Medellín: the 'paisa miracle' to surpass Cartagena

The capital of Paisa, the 'city of eternal spring', was named by the World Travel Awards as the best emerging destination of South America above cities like Cusco (Peru), Gramado (Brazil), Guayaquil (Ecuador) and Montevideo (Uruguay) less than a month ago.

It is important to highlight that the capital of the Aburrá Valley had already obtained other recognitions such as best getaway destination in South America in 2016, 2020 and 2021. Also, best destination for meetings and conferences in 2014 and 2015.

Likewise, according to Time Out magazine, it has established itself as the third best city in the world and among the coolest streets in the world is Vía Provenza.

“Lined with the lush foliage typical of Medellín, Vía Provenza is a short uphill walk from the bustling Parque Poblado and Parque Lleras, and is lively enough to take you from day to night. Restaurants, cafes and bars take center stage here, all showcasing the city's friendly, energetic and entrepreneurial spirit. The roar of reggaeton or electronic music often wafts through the street, along with bursts of laughter, animated conversations, and the sound of clinking glasses. There are not many places in this world where a good time is more or less guaranteed, but Vía Provenza is one of them,” the media and hospitality company wrote.
